Experience

Experience in Exploration, Appraisal and Producing assets for major IOCs in basins across the globe. A working knowledge of extensional and compressional regimes, classics and carbonate reservoirs.

NORTH SEA

12 years spent exploring with Mobil and OMV in London and Stavanger. Worked the full gamut of basins from the Barents Sea to the Southern Gas Basin, and the West of Shetlands, from exploration to development drilling. Interpreted across the geological spectrum from continental dunes (Rotleigendes Fm.) and alluvial fans (Skaggerak Fm.), braided to meandering rivers (Snadd Fm.), deltas (Cook and Brent Fms.) to deep water systems in Mid-Norway. Developed strengths in structural interpretations, seismic sequence stratigraphy and salt tectonics. Extensive use of rock physics and seismic attributes to derisk the reservoirs.

Led licence round applications, 3D seismic acquisition and reprocessing programs and rock physics studies.

As NV team lead part of evaluation and successful acquisitions of Rosebank, Edvard Greig, Astaa Hansteen & Wisting fields, utilizing strong economic and strategic portfolio background.

EAST COAST CANADA

Mapped data from the Gulf of Mexico to Greenland. Led the Suncor subsurface efforts to drill 2 wells in deepwater Nova Scotia and developed prospecticvity in Carson, Morgiana, Jeanne D'Arc, Flemish and Orphan Basins leading to acreage acquisition and drilling opportunities. Application of seismic sequence stratigraphy in Hibernia Fm and Jeanne D'Arc formation to support ILX activities around Suncor assets.

AUSTRALASIA

12 years spent working across Australasia including Timor Sea, NW Shelf, Gippsland & Taranaki NZ. New venture activity expanded into onshore Australian basins, East Coast NZ and PNG and Malaysia.

Development geophysicist in Timor Sea tasked with infield drilling at Jabiru and Challis Fields, and appraisal and geological model building for Montara field development plan.

NW Shelf exploration required application of detailed fluvial EOD mapping supported by extended seismic attributes studies to derisk reservoir and fluid fill.

GoM & SOUTH AMERICA

To support portfolio growth and expansion by new country entry undertook a 2 year Atlantic Margin basin entry analysis with technical deep dives into offshore South America and West African offshore. Used paleo-reconstruction and conjugate margin analogues to high-grade basins to work further. Part of a full technical bid for Mexico's Perdido and Salinas bidding rounds.

EUROPE & NORTH AFRICA

Lead geoscientist on Suncor's Sirte Basin assets in Libya tasked with building exploration portfolio and preparing well plans to fulfill outstanding commitments. Additional support for the Amal, Farigh and Tibisti fields through development of infill opportunities. By bringing a deep knowledge in both clastic and carbonate systems able to breathe new life into this old basin by focusing on the structural framework, EOD models and detailed sequence stratigraphy to better delineate the reservoir. Coupled with seismic reprocessing and using seismic attributes to derisk targets and significantly grow the portfolio.

Spent 2 years as a senior geophysicist in OMV's Vienna Basin drilling targets in the Miocene Matzen delta.
